Peeves

→ Being asked if I’m Asian.
This is a question that has always irritated me. Simply put, I am not in any way Asian. I was born and raised in America and all of my ancestors have been English, German, Irish, and Native American. I wasn’t aware I had to be Asian to like things from Asia.

→ People that bag on things without trying them.
Is it so hard to just say, “I don’t like it” without it turning into a mile long essay of complaints? I mean, it’s one thing if you’ve tried it and genuinely don’t like it, but I don’t like it when people put things down because of where they’re from etc. I hate when people ask me what I’m watching, I answer, and they proceed to bag on it because it’s not American or something dumb like that.

→ People that try to act like they have taste in music.
This is like the peeve to end all peeves with me. I have the, “I like what I like. Deal with it.” attitude. I’m happy to admit that my taste is both good and terrible. There are some songs/artists I like that are downright horrible and I hate myself for liking them, but I don’t go around pretending I don’t like them at all. Don’t say you hate a certain type of music then go say an artist that falls into said type is one of your favorites. It makes you look dumb.
